2015 Outstanding Filipino Seniors


 

In Celebration of the Filipino American History Month (FAHM), the Philippine American Cultural Foundation (PACF) for the 4th consecutive year welcomes the opportunity to honor the who are role models in their respective communities & professions. Our FAHM awardees represent the many Filipino Americans who immigrated to this country to become vital part of American society and who have contributed not just to its social and economic growth, but to its spiritual and cultural tapestry as well.
The event was held last October 18, 2015 at Four Points by Sheraton Chicago O’Hare, Schiller Park, Illinois and was chaired by Dr. Evelyn Natividad, PACF 1st Vice President.  The program started with the presentation of all awardees escorted by their loved ones. Alyssa Solomon & Anicia Carlos led the singing of the national anthems. PACF President Adeline Fajado gave the opening remarks and PACF Past President Ely Natividad read the message of President Obama. Rev. Fr. Carlos Llagas gave the invocation and blessed the awardees and attendees. PACF Director Flo Villegas introduced the guest speaker Consul Ricarte Abejuela III. During the entertainment, The Delano Brothers movie  was presented. Entertainers were  Alyssa Solomon,  Baron  & his dad & Lou Cabalona. Consul Abejuela III, Past President Ely Natividad &  President Adeline Fajardo presented the awards. PACF secretary Merle Perricone  gave the closing remarks. Lita Villegas and the Raffle committee gave away great raffle prizes. Emcees were Ruben Salazar & Evelyn Natividad . DJ Joseph Henson  provided the music. Indeed it was a very successful and memorable event. We SALUTE all our Outstanding Senior awardees.
This year we are commemorating 2 significant milestones in the Filipino American History-the 50th Anniversary of the Immigration Act of 1965 and the 50th Anniversary of the grape strike in Delano California.
